- 70 listings across seven spirits categories, ranked on estimated units bought on Amazon UK in the last month. Together they account for roughly 284,000 bottles a month.
- The median top-ten price is £20.50. 26 of the 70 entries are litre bottles, and 4 slots belong to the marketplace's own label.
- 8 listings climbed three places or more on their 90-day form and 26 entered the top ten. Single malts and flavoured gins did most of the climbing.
- Movement compares each listing's rank now with where its 90-day average rank would have placed it. NEW means it was outside the top ten on that basis.

Two patterns run through the movers. Single malts are building into the gifting season: Cardhu Gold Reserve, Laphroaig Oak Select, Aberlour 12 and Auchentoshan American Oak all climbed by double digits on their 90-day form, and each sits at £21 to £33, the band where a bottle reads as a present without needing a gift box. Flavoured and premium gins moved the other way in price: Malfy Arancia, Tanqueray No. TEN and Plymouth all entered or climbed the gin table at £21 to £29, taking share from the litre mainstream. Fallers are mostly the marketplace's own-label bottles, which held number one on 90-day form in rum, whisky and gin and have slipped as branded promotions came in.
What a top-ten slot costs
The price of a top-ten place varies more by category than by brand. Liqueurs and gin tables are built on £17 to £22 bottles, usually litres; whisky and bourbon run £19 to £33; tequila is the outlier, where the top six listings span £22 to £50 and volumes are a tenth of gin. Below is the median price of the ten entries in each table, which is the number to beat if you want to be seen in that category.
Litres, own-label and single sellers
The litre bottle is the volume format of the UK online shelf. 26 of 70 top-ten entries are litres, concentrated in gin, vodka, rum and blended Scotch, where £18.50 for a litre of a household name is the price point that moves thousands of units a month. The 70cl format dominates where the bottle is the point: single malts, bourbon, tequila. The marketplace's own label appears 4 times across the tables, always with a single seller and always a pound or two under the category leader. 14 of the 70 listings have a single seller; everything else is contested, and the most crowded listings have more than twenty.

What this means for a brand
- Pick the format for the job. A litre at a mainstream price wins volume; a 70cl at £25 to £33 wins the gifting and single-malt tables. Few brands do both from one SKU.
- Price to the table, not the category. The median top-ten price is the real benchmark. A gin at £35 is not competing with Gordon's; it is competing with Tanqueray No. TEN for the premium slots.
- Watch the sellers column. Listings with twenty sellers have no price discipline. Supplying as first-party stock, or holding the buy box with one well-stocked seller, is what keeps a listing's price where you set it.
- Climb on seasonality. The whisky climbers started moving in late August, weeks before anyone searches for Christmas gifts. Stock and promotions should be planned off these curves, which we publish in the shelf in numbers.
- Own-label is the floor. In every category the marketplace's own bottle sits a pound or two under the leader. Price above it with a reason, not below it.
How the leaderboard is built
Shelfdrop Intelligence combines three feeds: a weekly scan of the drinks listings our brand finder tracks on each marketplace (sales rank, estimated monthly units, buy box holder, offer count, stock history), category leaderboards and weekly search volumes, and our own price-tracking of the listings we sell against, which has logged more than 420,000 offers since April 2026. Monthly unit figures are estimates and rounded. We never publish a client's own numbers. Figures are for the listings in our scans, not the whole category, so treat them as a large sample rather than a census.
Categories are assigned from listing titles, so a cask-finish Scotch stays in whisky and a cream liqueur stays in liqueurs. Monthly units are estimates rounded to the nearest band by the data provider, which is why ties are common; ties are broken by current sales rank. Movement is measured against each listing's 90-day average rank rather than last week's table, so a listing that has been steadily climbing for two months shows as a climber even if it held the same slot last week. We will switch to week-on-week movement once the table has run for a month.
